Artemis Sterling Silver Ring

This ring is from the Optical Illusion Collection. The intent of this ring is to combine actual three-dimensional volume with an illusion. If you look closely at this band you will notice that the side on the right is an illusion. This entire ring was handmade and very complicated to achieve.

I used an advanced goldsmithing technique called Anticlastic rising to create this ring. Through the hammer strokes, I forged and formed a triangular hollow shape that transitions from a 3-dimensional side to a flat side. The ring begins with a three-dimensional triangular pyramid which flows along the three-dimensional hollow triangular form transitioning to the flat side of the ring. The ring finishes with a flat side in which a triangle enameling piece is imitating the three-dimensional side of the ring.
