Black onyx cabochon pendant in organic sterling silver

This black onyx pendant is one natural 7x9mm oval cabochon, glossy and dark, set in organic sterling silver and made by hand by Roozbeh in Toronto. With no accent stones, the whole piece is a study in contrast: black against bright silver, smooth against hammered. Onyx is a banded chalcedony, about 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale, and is traditionally linked with strength and grounding. It resists everyday wear well; a soft cloth removes fingerprints, and avoiding hard impacts preserves its polish. Because each pendant is hand fabricated, this one has no duplicate, and its black may read slightly softer or deeper than it does on screen. It hangs on a 16-inch sterling silver chain.
