It is hand fabricated by Roozbeh at the Rooz Jewellery studio in Toronto, with surfaces left textured and gently irregular. Blue topaz is a December birthstone, and its icy tone recalls winter sky over frozen water. Topaz measures 8 on the Mohs scale, so it is a strong, practical gem, though a hard knock can still cleave it; clean it with soft cloth and lukewarm water. The ring has no diamonds, which keeps the focus on the stone's glassy colour.
