I was fascinated by Canada’s gees. For me, a new Canadian, they represent courageousness, freedom, and determination. They have strong yet flexible and aerodynamic bodies. Choosing white gold which is hard to bend represents their stability. With a miracle of the hammer, fluidity emerges as the eye move around the ring following the curve up toward the stones. Accentuating the ring with yellow gold tubing with two stones set on either side highlights the stones. For emphasizing more on the stones, I put them in the golden ratio of the composition. The distance between two stones gives a depth to their fire, reminding geese eyes. Switching half of the ring’s body’s gold sheet with a handmade net not only reduces the weight and lowers the price but also adds the line into the overall format of design.
